Accommodation
Accommodation is offered in 3 beautifully furnished cottages, set on the banks of the farm dam and offering stunning views.
Each cottage can accommodate 4 guests and contains 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, and an open-plan kitchen, dining and living area. Each cottage has a Smart TV with Netflix and free Wi-Fi internet access. We have solar power available and therefore we have no load shedding.
Guests have access to a communal dining hall where there is another kitchen, a braai area and a pizza oven, with spectacular views. We also have a big braai pit and loose-standing braais. Fresh cow’s milk and farm-fresh eggs are available daily.
Our farm function venue offers a charming and serene backdrop that will make your event truly memorable. It has been designed to provide the perfect setting for your special events, accommodating up to 50 people. Whether you’re planning a wedding, corporate gathering, family reunion, or any other celebration.
Activities
Bird Watching: With a variety of birds on your farm, you can spend your mornings and evenings observing and identifying different bird species. Our national bird, the Blue Crane can be seen on our farm as well as the “Piet-my-vrou” or Red-chested Cuckoo. We also have the Hamerkop and Sunbird to name a few.
Swimming and Canoeing: Enjoy a refreshing swim in your farm dam, and take a leisurely canoe ride to explore the dam and its surroundings. It’s a great way to relax and appreciate the natural beauty.
Fishing for Tilapia: If you enjoy fishing, try your hand at catching tilapia in the farm dams.
Hiking in Grootvadersbos Nature Reserve: Venture out to the Grootvadersbos Nature Reserve, which is just 20 km away. There, you can explore various hiking trails and get up close to the natural beauty of the area. Don’t forget to bring your camera to capture the stunning landscapes.
Scenic Drive on Gysmanshoek Pass: Take a day trip along the Gysmanshoek Pass, starting right from your farm’s entrance. This scenic drive will lead you to nearby towns like Riversdale or Barrydale and explore their unique offerings.
Mountain Biking: Bring your bikes and enjoy riding on the farm roads and nearby passes.
